Circa 1960 Jackie Robinson Single Signed Baseball. The recent release of the Hollywood biopic "42" caused a brief spike in prices for memorabilia related to this first African-American Major Leaguer, but it's a market that has enjoyed a steady rise for decades now. On its current trajectory, the presented sphere should be a six-figure relic in a decade or two, a blue chip stock charting a similar course to that of icons like Ruth, Cobb and Young. While Robinson may not have dominated the record books in the same manner, his unparalleled significance to the sport, and to the culture at large, earns him a place on that Mount Rushmore of our National Pastime, and his autograph is a requirement for any quality collection.

Chalk it up to Robinson's well-established modesty that he almost never chose the sweet spot for his signings, claiming instead a side panel for his 7/10 autograph.
