Description

Circa 1960 Charles "Red" Ruffing Single Signed Baseball. A very tough single from the New York Yankees Hall of Fame hurler who shared a dugout with Ruth, Gehrig and DiMaggio during his Bronx service. But while the sluggers were swarmed by autograph seekers, the same wasn't true of this red-headed hurler, whose population of singles is dwarfed by each, even the rare Iron Horse. Posthumously honored by the Yanks in 2004 with a Monument Park plaque, Ruffing applied a 9+/10 black ink signature decades earlier to the sweet spot of the provided Energizer League Ball. The original recipients handwritten notation listing Ruffing's career stats is applied directly opposite the signature and remains invisible upon display. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
