Circa 1950 Julian "Julie" Wera Signed Baseball. Baseball fans have crowned the 1927 Yankees as baseball's finest collection of diamond talent to date. While the big boys on the team signed baseball after baseball, a reserve such as Julian Wera rarely was summoned for an autograph. This OAL (Harridge) baseball, with a heavy top coating applied to preserve the signature, is signed on the sweet spot by the elusive Wera in blue ink. For the record, Wera played in only 38 games in 1927 and five in '29 before his big league career was over. Another unknown autograph is applied on an adjacent side panel, but Wera's signature displays as a single. We have searched the auction archives from the past decade and have found only one Wera signature, and it was not on a baseball. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
