Description

Circa 1940 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. While the Babe Ruth single signed baseball is considered a mandatory component of any serious collection, the most serious collectors are only satisfied with specimens such as this. The Bambino's black fountain pen ink survives with remarkable 9+/10 boldness on the sweet spot of the provided OAL (Harridge) ball, the ink just as dark as the day it was applied. The enormous visual appeal of the essential relic is immediately apparent, and a few small nicks to the horsehide and the fading Harridge stamping do nothing to undermine the issue. A couple of small flat spots at the north and south poles of the ball are the result of storage in a display case, but you'll only notice them if you seek them out. Our catalog imagery will tell the story best, and that story is "High-grade Ruth single." Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
