Circa 1934 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Dual-Signed Baseball. The greatest slugging tandem of all time shared only a single season of pinstriped partnership after OAL (Harridge) baseballs transitioned from two-tone to solid red stitching, so it's likely that the offered specimen dates to the Babe's final year in the Bronx. Ruth and Gehrig would set sail for the Orient at the close of that 1934 season, planting the seeds of our national pastime into the fertile soil of Japan. Thus it could be argued that, from a global standpoint, this was the most important vintage of their long and fruitful collaboration.

Ruth claims his standard sweet spot position here, with Gehrig just to the east, each applied in black fountain pen ink that today presents at 8/10 and 6/10 respectively. The appearance of the ball suggests game use prior to its meeting with the Hall of Fame long ball artists, allowing us to dream that it may have been blasted into the outfield seats by one of their Louisville Sluggers. A rock-solid representation of one of the hobby's most coveted items. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
