Description

Circa 1932 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. The top two assassins of the fabled Murderer's Row remain linked upon the OAL (Harridge) ball a full three-quarters of a century after the end of their pinstriped partnership. While more than a decade sharing a Bronx dugout and barnstorming ventures both foreign and domestic have supplied the hobby with a reasonable quantity of dual-signed spheres, few could match the remarkable quality of the presented model. Each has signed in 8/10 black fountain pen ink, Ruth in his customary sweet spot position and Gehrig close enough on the eastern panel to provide for synchronous display. For the experienced hobbyist and for those looking for a worthy cornerstone upon which to build a quality collection, this lot merits serious consideration. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
