Description

Circa 1930 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. It's a signature so bold the center fielder could read it if the ball was set down upon home plate. The Bambino's black fountain pen autograph rates a solid 9/10 under a slightly crazed coating of shellac which deserves much of the thanks for the impressive survival of Ruth's essential signature. The "Amateur League" ball exhibits moderate toning and a degree of handling wear, but our catalog imagery should properly indicate that the aesthetics remain compelling. Without shellac and placed upon an official ball, this signature would be comparable to that of a $50,000 model, so we expect no shortage of interest in this offering. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
