2016 Alex Rodriguez Final Home Run & At-Bat Game Worn & Signed New York Yankees Batting Helmet with Rodriguez Letter. Father Time is the only undefeated champion in sports, and he came for Alex Rodriguez in 2016 after one of the most spectacular careers in the history of Major League Baseball. The man who won the American League batting championship and nearly the MVP during his 1996 rookie campaign said goodbye to the game on August 12, 2016, taking his final at-bat with this helmet on his head.Firsts and lasts will always carry enormous appeal among cultured collectors, and this special relic adds another "last" to its resume, the final long ball of an outrageous career tally of 696, a figure surpassed only three times in Major League history.
The right-handed New York Yankees helmet exhibits solid game wear from the last mile of Rodriguez' storied career, with the classic "NY" logo decal over the visor on front and an MLB logo on back, each side likewise adorned with number "13" decals. Padded interior is tagged "Rawlings Authentic Collection" with a size "7 1/4" sticker. Rodriguez attests to the supreme significance of the helmet with his 9+/10 silver sharpie and notations reading, "Final Game 8-12-16" and "Last Home Run #696." A letter of provenance from Alex Rodriguez is included.
