2016 Alex Rodriguez 696th & Final Career Home Run Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. In the full history of Major League Baseball, only three men have surpassed the home run tally that this signature model Louisville Slugger C271L recorded. Just over twenty-two years after first stepping onto a Major League diamond at age eighteen, A-Rod led off the bottom of the second inning of a July 18, 2016 Bronx visit by the Baltimore Orioles with a solo shot to left for the 696th and final home run of his career. Less than a month later, he'd make his final Big League appearance, leaving behind a legacy as one of the greatest five-tool players of all time.

It would be disingenuous to pretend that Rodriguez is not a controversial figure, but it would be equally so to suggest that poor choices made late in his career undermine his status as one of the sport's pantheon figures. If the brand of forgiveness that ultimately found its way to "Shoeless Joe" Jackson ever is granted to A-Rod, this is a six-figure bat without breaking a sweat.

It exhibits use characterized by the experts at PSA/DNA as "outstanding," with ball marks, ink transfers, cleat marks and a handle crack suffered in the eighth inning of that July 18th contest. The MLB authentication sticker references that eighth inning at-bat, but Rodriguez himself attests to its use for the entirety of the contest, including his first plate appearance, signing the barrel in 9/10 silver sharpie with a "Last HR 696, 7/18/16" notation. Steiner's authentication sticker references the home run directly.

Knob is stamped with production date, length in inches and weight in ounces: "02/17/16, 34.0, 31.5." A closing bookend to one of the sport's greatest careers. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. MLB Authentic JB772355. Steiner SS159279. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
