Description
2001 Albert Pujols Career Home Run #8 Game Used & Signed Baseball with Provenance. He wasn't supposed to make the team. But all Albert Pujols did was hit, hit and hit some more during Spring Training of 2001. Injuries, coupled with a hot bat, allowed the upstart to travel north for the beginning of the '01 season. Pujols carried over his successful start to the big leagues as he claimed Rookie of the Year honors and began a Hall of Fame career. This baseball was launched into the stands by a young Pujols April 28, 2001 when the Cardinals were edged by the Mets 6-5 in eleven innings. Our consignor was at Homers Landing at Busch Stadium and corralled this OML (Selig) ball which was pitched by Mets reliever John Franco. The ball shows light use and is signed by Pujols in 8/10 blue felt tip. The lucky fan's ticket stub and a letter of provenance will be provided. This is the earliest Pujols home run baseball we have encountered. Heritage Auctions did sell the future Hall of Famer's career home run #701 ball for $44,400 in February of 2023. Letter of provenance from consignor. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
