Description

1996 Cal Ripken, Jr. Game Used Baseball from The Game He Broke Sachio Kinugasa's Iron Man Streak from The Roberto Alomar Collection. In 1987 Japanese player Sachio Kinugasa eclipsed Lou Gehrig's consecutive games played streak, finishing with 2,215 in a row. Cal Ripken, Jr. was already in the midst of his streak, though, and went on to pass Kinugasa in 1996. This OAL (Budig) baseball was used the game which Ripken topped Kinugasa's mark. The game was held June 14, 1996 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. This originates from Roberto Alomar's collection and includes a letter from him. The ball shows proper use. Ripken's sweet spot signature has faded. Kinugasa signed a side panel. Letter of provenance from Roberto Alomar. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
