Description
1987 Mike Schmidt 500th Home Run Game Used Signed Baseball. The home run is unlike anything in the sports world. Mike Schmidt was one of baseball's most consistent run producers of his, or any, era. On April 18, 1987 Schmidt joined the fraternity all home run hitters dream of - the 500 home run club. Used during that game is this ONL (Giamatti) baseball. Schmidt signed the toned baseball in blue marker and inscribed "#500 4/18/87." The ball was originally obtained from former NL umpire Bob Engel. Engel would trade baseballs with other umpires and use them to barter with a local sports bar owner in Vermillion, South Dakota. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
