1974 Nolan Ryan First Career No-Hitter Game Used Baseball.
There's nothing like the first time, particularly for a guy like Nolan Ryan who seemed poised to make history every time he took the mound. The all-time Strikeout King posted seven no-hitters during his illustrious career, but this is the only game used sphere we've encountered from his first, a three-run shutout victory for the California Angels over the Kansas City Royals. The OAL (Cronin) ball exhibits solid wear from the oldest of the septuplets, boldly adorned with the details of the domination and autographed in 9/10 ink on the sweet spot. Letter of provenance from Bruce Schworck. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.

    The Ernie Schworck Collection

With a camera around his neck and a spirit of adventure in his heart, renowned photographer Ernie Schworck spent three decades in the employment of United Press International (UPI), aiming his lens at the most famous figures of twentieth century sport and politics. The collection that follows focuses primarily on the former, Schworck's Los Angeles residency making him a familiar face at Dodger Stadium and Anaheim Stadium. He's best remembered for his creation of some of the most famous photographs of legendary southpaw Sandy Koufax ever captured, images that he populated with hand-notated game used balls that served as living captions for no-hitters, World Series victories and other historic achievements. Schworck wisely retained many of these baseballs for his personal collection, and they make their hobby debut in the lots that follow. Several are accompanied by the photos for which they were created, and all include a letter of provenance from the Schworck family.
