    Description

1974 Gary Carter Hit #2 Game Used & Signed Baseball. Heritage Auctions was fortunate enough to sell Gary Carter's massive collection of sports memorabilia. As we all know, Carter was a collector from his Little League days until the very end. This ONL (Feeney) baseball accounted for The Kid's second Major League hit. To make it more special, Carter connected against fellow Hall of Famer Tom Seaver. Carter confirmed the was the hit ball when he signed a side panel with this inscription: "2nd Major League Hit Ball." A separate side panel has writing describing the at-bat but, unfortunately, the writing has faded. The hit did occur on September 18, 1974 when the Expos downed Cincy 4-0. The point of contact appears just below the "Spalding" logo. A separate letter of provenance states this baseball was purchased from Barry Halper's estate. Letter of provenance from original owner. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
