Description

1970's Thurman Munson Single Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA NM 7. After two seasons of the greatest joy with back-to-back World Championships, the Yankees family experienced one of its darkest days in August of 1979 when their beloved captain's plane crashed short of an Ohio runway and burned with Munson trapped inside. His elite significance to the 1970's return to Yankee glory and his tragic early passing have created a massive gap between demand and supply, and this is one of the finest of his singles that we've encountered.

Munson's signature has mellowed from either blue or black to a bold purple on the sweet spot of the provided non-official sphere. The autograph compares favorably to the single we sold in August 2017 for $12,105. The experts at PSA?DNA have graded the autograph an 8 and the ball a 6, for an overall grade of 7. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, NM 7.
