Description

1970's Satchel Paige Single Signed Baseball, PSA NM-MT 8. Fellow Hall of Famer Dizzy Dean once said of Paige, "He's a better pitcher than I ever hope to be," explaining that "My fastball looks like a change of pace alongside that little pistol bullet Satchel shoots up to the plate." Perhaps the greatest pitcher ever developed by the Negro Leagues, Paige applied his wonderfully bold black ink signature to the sweet spot of an OAL (MacPhail) ball late in his life. The grade of NM-MT 8 rendered by PSA/DNA reflects a score of 9/10 for the autograph and 7/10 for the ball (resulting from light stamping and the slightest hint of foxing). As our catalog imagery will attest, few Paige singles present as well as this one. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
