1970's Nestor Chylak Single Signed Baseball. Nearly blinded by an exploding shell in the Battle of the Bulge during the Second World War, Chylak recovered to become one of our national pastime's most celebrated umpires. His posthumous 1999 Hall of Fame induction made his single signed baseball an essential, but supplies are meager. This is our favorite we've seen, inscribed, "Play hard and fair, Best wishes, Nestor Chylak Jr., American League." Part of inscription (likely a personalization) has been removed. Black ballpoint ink rates 6/10. OAL (MacPhail) ball is evenly toned. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
