1969 New York Mets Team Signed Baseball. The New York Mets shocked the collective sporting world in 1969 by rising to the top of the baseball landscape. Gil Hodges pushed all the right buttons as the Mets were truly Amazin' in '69. Signed by the bulk of the squad is this nicely white "N.Y. Mets" logo baseball. The sweet spot Gil Hodges is actually a facsimile signature that was issued on the ball, but the remainder of the signatures are real. The blue and black ballpoint signatures average 8-10/10 with Nolan Ryan, Ed Kranepool, Yogi Berra and one additional one notch below at 7/10.

We are able to link the ball's vintage to 1969 because it includes Bobby Pfeil, who played 62 games in his only campaign with the Mets. The twenty-nine signatures include: Ryan, Kranepool, Berra, McGraw, Swoboda, Pfeil, Pignatano, Martin, Weis, McAndrew, Boswell, Cardwell, Shamsky, Koosman, DiLauro, Clendenon, Agee, Grote, Koonce, Yost, Taylor, Garrett, Jones, Gentry, Seaver, Dyer, Charles and two more. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
