    Description

1968 Felipe Alou Game Worn Atlanta Braves Jersey. Born into poverty in the Dominican Republic, young Felipe dreamed of escaping his circumstances as a doctor, but instead became one of three brothers destined for fame and fortune in Major League Baseball. Here we present a road grey flannel from one of the finest seasons of his seventeen-year playing career, a campaign in which he topped all National Leaguers with 210 hits. Tough four-year jersey style features scripted "Braves" across chest in navy and red tackle twill with number "29" on verso. Screaming brave patch on left sleeve. Interior collar holds embroidered swatch announcing "29 41 68." Lower left front tail is tagged "Spalding [size] 42" with "Dry Clean Only" and "Set 1 1968" tags below. Solid wear, with no alterations. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
