1967 Carl Yastrzemski Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 9.5.Just as Mickey Mantle fortuitously arrived on the scene when the Yankee Clipper was about to sail off into the sunset, so did this outfielder with the challenging last name come just in time to fill a void left by the departure of the legendary Ted Williams. Though Yaz might never have displaced his iconic predecessor from status as "the greatest hitter that ever lived," he certainly earned a temporary distinction as the top offensive force on the planet during the Red Sox' American League Championship season of 1967, claiming the fabled Triple Crown with a .326 average, forty-four home runs and 121 runs batted in.
There is no vintage more desirable for this Fenway favorite, and the experts at PSA/DNA assure that the provided signature model Hillerich & Bradsby W215 could only have been delivered to Yaz in 1967. At thirty-four inches (34") in length and nearly thirty-three ounces (32.7 oz.), the bat perfectly matches factory ordering records, and exhibits game use characterized as "outstanding," with ball marks, stitch impressions, cleat marks and, remarkably, an uncracked handle. Number "8" appears in marker on the knob along with the bat's weight in pencil. Unquestionably one of the top Yaz bats that exists. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9.5.
