1965 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball. The Junior Circuit battled back from an early five-run deficit to knot the score in the fifth inning, but Ron Santo plated Willie Mays in the seventh to break the deadlock, the last run in an eventual six to five National League victory. The presented OAL (Cronin) ball is no loser, however, boasting twenty-five bold blue ink autographs from the likes of Killebrew, Kaline, Brooks Robinson, manager Al Lopez, Howard, Oliva, Stottlemyre, Richardson and more. The memorabilia in this section originates from personal collection of Ray Crump, who got his start in baseball within the Washington Senators' clubhouse, serving as a batboy for the club beginning in 1948. When the Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961, he came North with them to become the Twins' first equipment manager, a position he held until retiring from the organization in 1984. This long tenure in the American League provided Mr. Crump with the ability to amass a vast collection of keepsakes, which are presented in the pages that follow.
