1962 New York Mets Team Signed Baseball - With Hornsby. Known as the worst baseball outfit in the game's history, the 1962 Mets still hold the record for futility. With a putrid mark of 40-120, the Mets were 60.5 games behind the San Francisco Giants when the curtain closed on the season. While they didn't have much success on the field, the Mets had a few Hall of Famers on the roster - mainly coaches. Rogers Hornsby was the team's hitting coach in 1962. The sweet spot holds signatures from Hornsby and Cookie Lavagetto. The thirty-two autographs (8/10 average) include: Bouchee, Smith, Drake, Hodges, Zimmer, Craig, Kress, Miller, Hook, Labine, Jones, Ashburn, Stengel, Mantilla, Cannizzaro, Anderson, DeMerit, Thomas, Ruffing, Chacon, Bell, Landrith and eight more. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
