1960's Mercury Seven Astronauts (4) Signed Baseball.America's original spacemen! The Mercury Seven was the first team of NASA astronauts, alternately called the "Original Seven" or "Astronaut Group 1." We find more than half of them here: Wally Schirra, Scott Carpenter, Alan Shepard and Gus Grissom. We can be certain that this well-used ONL (Giles) baseball was autographed no later than 1967, as Grissom would tragically lose his life in January of that year in the Apollo 1 launch pad fire. All signatures appear in very bold blue ink against the mottled surface of the baseball that fittingly bears some resemblance to the Moon. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
