1960 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball with George Sisler. ...
Description
1960 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball with George Sisler. The Yankees scored twice as many runs during the seven games of the 1960 World Series, but the last put on the board by the Bucs was Bill Mazeroski's walk-off winner. The Hall of Fame second baseman appears as one of twenty-seven blue ink autographs upon the provided ONL (Giles) ball which has Don Hobbs listed as President of the Western League. Hobbs was the President of the league from 1956-58. We are able to determine this ball is signed by the championship outfit because of the signatures of Clem Labine and Mickey Vernon. Labine appeared with the Pirates in 1960-61 before joining the first version of the New York Mets in 1962. Vernon served as a player/coach in 1961 but left to manage the Washington Senators in their first year of existence. The offered orb has a top coating applied to preserve the signatures. The twenty-seven autographs average 6/10 to 8/10 with a few lesser. The signatures of Hall of Famers George Sisler and Mazeroski share the sweet spot. Others who signed include: Vernon, Labine, Schofield, Face, Groat, Friend, Clemente (8/10), Haddix, Baker, Levy, Virdon, Nelson, Burgess, Narron, Murtaugh (clubhouse) and more. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
