Description
1959 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball from the Casey Stengel Collection. Stengel, the manager of the American League squad this season, had quite a talent pool with which to work his magic this year, as is evidenced by the thirty autographs that fill every nook and cranny of this OAL (Harridge) ball from the event. Later finding a home in Cooperstown are Stengel himself, Bunning, Wilhelm, Wynn, Aparicio, Kaline, Fox and Killebrew. Mantle, Williams and Berra are present as well, but have been deemed clubhouse versions. Stengel has also penned "All-Star Washington 1959" on the sweet spot. Signature quality ranges from 7/10 to 10/10, with most at the precise center of that scale. The ball has been encapsulated in a special PSA ball cube with a "Stengel Collection" label. A full PSA/DNA letter of authenticity attesting to the Stengel provenance is included as well.Auction Info
