Description

1958 National League Team Signed Baseballs Lot of 4. We elected to feature this grouping as a single lot because that is how it was presented in a 1973 charity auction in Manhattan. We even have the original program from the event, which indicates the grouping commanded a final bid of seventy dollars, according to the bidder's handwritten notation. His invoice is here as well. The contents:

Milwaukee Braves, twenty-six signatures including Aaron, Mathews, Schoendienst. Los Angeles Dodgers, twenty-three signatures including Drysdale, Alston, Hodges, Furillo, Erskine. Snider and Reese are secretarial. San Francisco Giants, twenty-nine signatures including Mays, Cepeda, Grissom, Sauer. Al Dark and Bill Rigney are secretarial or stamped. Philadelphia Phillies, twenty-six signatures including Simmons, Seminick, Post. Mayo Smith secretarial. The fifth ball in the original 1973 lot is not present. The signatures rate an astounding 9/10 or better across the board on ONL (Giles) balls. Super-high condition grouping with an intriguing back story. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
