    Description

    1957 Sam Crawford Single Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA EX+ 5.5.
A devastating combination of power and speed elevated "Wahoo Sam" to the top of the career charts for triples with a total of 309, fourteen better than his closest rival and Hall of Fame teammate Ty Cobb. Much like Gehrig's experience with Ruth, Crawford often found himself in the shadow of the more famous Tiger, and his single signed baseballs are rarely seen within the hobby. He inscribed this ONL (Frick) ball to an admirer in black fountain pen ink on the day of his long-overdue Cooperstown enshrinement: "To W.E. Kinnerey Jr., All good wishes, Wahoo Sam Crawford, Hall of Fame July 22-1957." At a later date, an unknown person altered the personalization, presumably to make a gift of the special relic. PSA/DNA assesses the autograph at 5/10 and the ball at 6/10 for the composite grade as listed. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, EX+ 5.5. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
