    Description

1955 Ty Cobb Single Signed Baseball. Famously quoted as saying, "When I came to Detroit, I was just a mild-mannered Sunday school boy," the iconic Georgia Peach would fuel himself with a steady diet of anger and determination in the years to follow to metamorphose into the sport's most terrifying figure. The dark knight of the first quarter of the twentieth century game, Cobb was baseball's Machiavellian ideal, claiming power and respect through the clenched iron fist rather than the open hand of friendship.

Here we find him a half century after that auspicious debut, his fierce competitiveness long since directed from the baseball diamond to the stock market, where he once again asserted his dominion. We see that confident nature in the bold 8.5/10 side panel application of his essential autograph, underscored with the "9/14/55" date of the occasion. The medium is an OAL (Harridge) ball, painted with shellac over the signed panel. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
