1955 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball With Rookie Roberto Clemente Autograph. Very few bright spots could be taken from the 1955 Pittsburgh Pirates trainwreck season. A mere 66 wins had the team looking up at all but one team. But the Forbes Field faithful had better days ahead as twenty-year old Roberto Clemente settled into the outfield and hit .311 in his inaugural campaign. This ONL (Frick) baseball is signed by twenty-two members in ballpoint ink including the skinny rookie from Puerto Rico. We average the signatures at 8/10 with a few lesser. The Clemente penning rates in the 8/10 range in our estimation. JSA has deemed the Vern Law and Fred Haney as of the clubhouse variety. Others who signed include: King, Ward, Eddie O'Brien, Johnny O'Brien, Groat, Long, Friend, Lynch, Cole, Mejias, Saffell, Kline, Surkont, Koback, Purkey, Littlefield and three more. Removal on south panel is likely a personalization or a kid who wanted to add his name to the ball. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
