    Description

    1953 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA NM-MT 8.

UPDATE: This baseball has been professionally graded by PSA/DNA since the publication of the printed catalog. The autographs are 8/10, the ball itself is 7/10 and the final grade is 8/10 (half-point bonus for strong aesthetics).

By the time Mickey Mantle decided to call it a career, he had been an All-Star participant twenty times during his eighteen year Hall of Fame journey. This OAL (Harridge) ball was signed by Mantle the first time he could call himself an All-Star. Twenty-eight bold signatures (average 9/10) consume this lightly aged orb. We were able to deduce the vintage because Mantle and Johnny Sain have only '53 as the same year both were All-Stars. Autographs include: Zernial, Eddie Robinson, Lemon, Doby, Kell, White, Vernon, Mantle, Stengel, Susce, Kuenn, Harder, Rosen, Garcia, Carrasquel, Fox, Goodman, Rizzuto, Mize, Sain, Berra, Ted Williams, Boudreau, Bauer, Pierce, Fain, Reynolds and one more. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
