    Description

1952 New York Yankees Pennant-Clinching Out Baseball. Historic horsehide settled into the glove of outfielder Irv Noren on September 26, 1952 to close out a five to two victory over the Philadelphia Athletics and punch the Yankees' ticket to their fourth consecutive Fall Classic appearance, and nineteenth in franchise history. The ball exhibits solid game use from that pennant-clinching out, with vintage fountain pen notation in Noren's hand reading, "This ball won pennant for us, 1952, New York Yankees, Last Out Caught by [signed] Irv Noren." The Yankees would meet their perpetual October rival the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1952 World Series, staving off elimination in Game Six and claiming the World Championship the next day before a stunned Ebbets Field crowd. A thrilling relic from a glorious era for Big Apple baseball. Letter of provenance from famed hobby figure Al Rosen (Mr. Mint) attests to acquiring the ball directly from Noren. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
