Description

1951 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball.
The rapturous joy felt by Giants fans in the wake of Bobby Thomson's famous "Shot" was short-lived due to the thirty gentlemen whose signatures appear on this OAL (Harridge) ball. The Yanks were unstoppable this October, even despite the fact that their rookie right fielder, a kid named Mickey Mantle, was lost to an injury that would plague him the rest of his Hall of Fame career in the Series' second game. This stellar OAL (Harridge) baseball is signed by that championship outfit in ballpoint ink - average 8/10 with a few dipping below. Joe DiMaggio is rightfully reserved for the sweet spot while Mickey Mantle's signature (7/10) occupies a side panel. "11" is written on the ball, as this ball was presented to and once owned by veteran hurler Johnny Sain. Autographs include: Kuzava, Cerv, Brideweser, Woodling, Ostrowski, Overmire, Berra, Raschi, Noren, McDougald, Sain, Morgan, Brown, Houk, Hopp, Miller, Carey, Martin (4/10), Bauer, Collins, Lopat, Schallock, Mize, Silvera, Rizzuto and more. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
