Description

1950's Joe Gordon Single Signed Baseball. Four times a World Champion with the New York Yankees, and once with the Cleveland Indians, Gordon failed to garner the recognition he deserved as a player only due to his proximity to legends like DiMaggio, Feller and Lemon, who drew most of the fans' and sportswriters' attention. With an average of over 100 runs batted in per season when factored to a 162-game schedule, Gordon would have been the top dog on many a ballclub, and his Hall of Fame induction more than three decades after his passing in 1978 was long overdue.

It has also greatly complicated the search for his singles, now a requirement for every collector with a Cooperstown concentration. Here we present the third Gordon single we've ever offered, and far and away the finest, his 8/10 blue ink "Best Wishes, Joe Gordon" preserved beneath a vintage coating of shellac on an OAL (Harridge) baseball. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
