Description
A player/manager for four of the Pittsburgh Pirates' nine National League Championship seasons, Clarke held the reins in Steeltown for a decade and a half, earning Cooperstown bronze in the process. His single presents an enormous challenge for the autograph collector, but our consignor's father had an advantage over others.
Joseph O'Toole served as Joe L. Brown's right hand man and was the team's co-General Manager from 1976-79. His many trips to the ballpark produced this Fred Clarke single signed ball. The ONL (Giles) ball was manufactured in the 1950's. O'Toole ran the ticket office during that time period. The slightly toned orb holds a dark green ballpoint signature (9/10) on a side panel. Overall, one of the nicest Clarke singles we have been able to offer. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.
