1950 Philadelphia Phillies Team Signed Baseball - The Whiz Kids Sourced From Player. Many prognosticators slighted the 1950 Philadelphia Phillies as they figured the team was far too young to compete with the mighty competition. Well the Phillies inspired a city and held off the hard-charging Dodgers in 1950 en route to a World Series appearance. The Whiz Kids secured their spot in baseball history with a glorious pennant-clinching season. This ONL (Frick) ball is penned by twenty-three members of that unforgettable band of brothers. Our consignor received this very ball from team member Blix Donnelly. The majority of the autographs rate 7-8/10 with a few lesser. Signatures include: Hollmig, Donnelly, Heintzelman, Konstanty, Seminick, Sawyer, Bengough, Ashburn, Waitkus, Nicholson, Simmons, Bloodworth, Goliat, Candini, Jones, Sisler, Roberts, Meyer, Ennis, Whitman, Caballero and two more. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
