Description
1947 Ty Cobb, Connie Mack, Zack Wheat, Happy Chandler & Others Multi-Signed World Series Hit Baseball. The baseball offered here bears the following vintage inscription on one of its side panels: "Hit By Johnny Lindell, World Series 1947." Just below the inscription are the large and bold black felt tip autographs of A.B. "Happy" Chandler (9/10) and Connie Mack (some skipping, otherwise 9/10). On the panel directly below Mack is the signature of Ty Cobb in the same black felt tip format. While the pen's ink may have been running out by the time the Georgia Peach affixed his autograph (resulting in varying ink strength), his signature is still appears large and bold. Other signers include Zack Wheat (3/10), Rube Marquard (5/10), Billy Southworth, Bucky Walters, Gus Getz, Nap Rucker, Ivy Olson, Jimmy Johnston, and Hi Meyers. The ball has toned over the years but the autographs are all very legible with the Cobb, Mack, and Chandler all displaying very nicely. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.Auction Info
