    Description

1947-48 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. While the superstar slugger's famous and unfailing generosity of spirit ensured that his is the most available of all pre-war sporting legends, the tremendous demand for his essential autograph has nonetheless powered a sustained upward trajectory in auction results throughout the years. Historically, the Babe's signature has been the hobby's safest bet. It has been commonly and properly stated that every great sports memorabilia collection begins with the Babe Ruth single signed baseball.

Presented is one of the finest examples Heritage has had the good fortune to present to the collecting community, a specimen boasting a fountain pen sweet spot signature as bold as any we have encountered. The medium is an Official Texas League sphere from the long tenure of J. Alvin Gardner, who ruled the Lone Star State league from 1929 through 1954, but the specific "Spalding" stamping style limits production to the final two years of Ruth's life. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
