1946 Enos Slaughter Hand-Painted "Stat Ball" Commemorating His Finest Season from The Enos Slaughter Collection. One of the earliest "stat balls" you will ever see, this ONL (Frick) sphere was created and presented to Hall of Famer Enos Slaughter after the 1946 campaign, when he recorded the finest statistical season of his career. This was also the year that Country authored his "Mad Dash," which raised the Cardinals to victory in the seventh game of the 1946 World Series.

Inscribed and decorated in red and blue ink, the ball features a likeness of a cardinal plus a "1946" pennant flag. The rest of the ball is inscribed: "Congratulations and more power to you -- Enos!...Led both leagues in Runs Batted in with 130. Batting Average .300...Enos Slaughter souvenir ball for 1946." The overall condition of this piece is superb and it comes with a vintage Spalding bag (worn). Letter of provenance from the Slaughter family.
