Five inaugural class Hall of Famers reunite...

1946-47 Baseball Greats Multi-Signed Baseball with Ruth, Wagner, Johnson, Sisler & Mack.
Update: A PSA Full LOA is included with this lot

It was a reunion of sorts for the quintet of baseball icons who assemble here upon the provided OAL (Harridge) sphere. Each was present for the ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939, members of the inaugural class of immortals, the first dozen bronze plaques on display today.

Babe Ruth, as was customary, claims the sweet spot of this toned ball. There are a few surface marks on the "u" in Ruth but the autograph is 5/10 in strength. Honus Wagner and Walter Johnson are joined on a side panel and scribed their names in 7/10 ink. George Sisler's signature (5/10) is applied on an adjacent side panel while Connie Mack's faded autograph is on yet another panel. Just above Mack's signature appears to be writing, but it is nearly undecipherable from age. The particular stamping format allows us to assign the vintage listed in the auction title, placing the sphere in the final years of Johnson and Ruth's lives. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
