Description
1946-47 Babe Ruth Multi-Signed Baseball. In the last years of his life, as his health deteriorated and the hopeless nature of his illness became increasingly apparent, Babe worked to be as active and social as possible. Right up until the end, he continued interacting with his beloved fans and signing baseballs. And while his once strapping physique and booming voice had noticeably succumbed to his disease, Ruth's autograph remained as beautiful and full of life as ever.As the OAL (Harridge) exemplar on offer here was only in play during a two-year window, we know that The Sultan affixed his timeless signature to the side panel in either 1946 or 1947. "Babe Ruth" appears large, bold, and beautiful in 8.5/10 black steel-tip fountain pen.
The original owner of this baseball worked in an Indianapolis radio station. Initially, he had his co-workers sign the ball. Then, later, he was fortunate enough to get the Babe to add his timeless autograph. The ball has some toned lightly to a mild and attractive cream color. And despite the other signatures, Ruth still displays magnificently. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
