1943 New York Giants Team Signed Baseball. Leo "The Lip" Durocher coined his most famous line when watching Mel Ott's squad of Giants warming up in 1943 - "Nice guys finish last." While Ott's reign as skipper was anything but memorable, he was one of the game's best sluggers to date. His high leg kick is often emulated, but never quite duplicated. Signed in 1943 is this ONL (Frick) baseball, consumed with twenty-five signatures. Almost all of the black steel-tip autographs rate 7-8/10, with a few lesser. The Ott signature rates a strong 8/10. Others who signed the orb include: Witek, Wittig, Jurges, Jonnard, Berres, Luque, Gordon, Hubbell, Mungo, Mancuso, Feldmen, Fischer, Rucker, Lohrman, Sayles, Chase, Maynard, Orengo, Bartell, East, Melton, Lombardi, Ott and Medwick. The original box this ball was housed in (some ripping) will attend. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
