Description
1942 "The Pride of the Yankees" Cast Signed Baseball with Babe Ruth, Gary Cooper. Widely considered the most important sports film of all time, the Lou Gehrig biopic featured a tantalizing convergence of stars from the diamond and silver screen joined to honor the fallen Iron Horse. This OAL (Harridge) sphere is one of the few known to have been birthed upon the set of that film, featuring a magnificent sweet spot signature (conservative 8/10) from the Babe on the sweet spot and leading man Gary Cooper in 7/10 condition on the panel just above. Former Yanks and noteworthy Hollywood figures comprise the balance of the eleven autographs, and include Bill Dickey, Mark Koenig, Bob Meusel, Babe Herman, Lefty O'Doul, Walter Brennan and Dan Duryea. Average signature quality is 7/10. A light coating of shellac has performed admirably in its intended purpose of autograph maintenence, and provides a handsome tone to the horsehide. We'll let the baseball fans and movie buffs fight it out for this one. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.More information about Babe Ruth Sports Player.
