Description

1941 Boston Red Sox Team Signed Baseball. Offered the opportunity to sit out the final game of the 1941 season to protect a season average of an even .400, Ted Williams showed the same unflappable courage that made him a great fighter pilot and strode to the plate, going six for eight in a doubleheader to close the season at a phenomenal .406. Here the young Splinter finds himself sandwiched between two other legends of the game, Jimmie Foxx and Bobby Doerr, who appear in equally strong NRMT ink with twenty-five more BoSox. Other notables include Cronin, Grove, Dom DiMaggio and even a faint but entirely legible secret agent Moe Berg. With the exception of Berg and two others (not listed), the autographs are uniformly dark and bold, due in part to a clear coating that was passed over the signatures on this "Reach Official League Ball" decades ago. A special ball from a special year. LOA from PSA/DNA.
