Description

1940's Mel Ott Single Signed Baseball. With a powerful left-handed swing and a short right field Polo Grounds porch at which to aim, the superstar New York Giants slugger became the third member of the illustrious 500 Home Run Club. Presented in an ONL (Frick) ball autographed around the time Ott earned his key to the clubhouse. It appears that the original recipient of the ball's name was sanded away after Ott's application and replaced by another hand with a different one. This should not distract from the fact that the "From Mel Ott" below is original and unaltered, presenting with impressive 8+/10 boldness. The ball is likewise in fine condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
