1940's Jerome "Dizzy" Dean Single Signed American League Baseball. What we know for sure is that this is a beautiful 1943-1947 OAL (Harridge) creamy white, Near Mint baseball signed on a side panel by Dizzy Dean. What we can only guess, however, is that this may be an extremely rare signature of Dean from the single game he played in the American League, in 1947 with the St. Louis Browns. After a six-year hiatus from MLB since 1941, Dean returned to pitch four innings with the Browns, giving up no earned runs. The signature itself is vintage, and rates a 7/10. Even if it just happens to be an early post-career ball signed by Dean because an A.L. ball is all the fan had, it remains a gorgeous SS side-panel Dean example. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
