Description

1940 Pittsburgh Pirates Team Signed Baseball with Honus Wagner. While their on-field product resulted in barely a winning season, the 1940 Pirates had an influx of star talent. Honus Wagner served as a hitting instructor while the team included Hall of Famers Frankie Frisch and the Waner brothers. A heavy top coating has been applied to this ball to protect the signatures - average from 4/10 to 8/10. Most are on the lower end of the scale. Wagner (4/10) assumes the sweet spot while the others include: Lanning, Arky Vaughan (light), Klinger, Frisch (first name light), Flowers, Bauers, Brubaker, Berres, Brown, Lloyd Waner (material loss on first name), Brown and more. We were able to link the ball to '40 because it was the only common year for Berres and Frisch. Full LOA form PSA/DNA.
