Description

1940-45 Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. After a brief stint as a ceremonial third base coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers, The Bambino devoted the final decade of his life to golf, fishing, bowling and public appearances. He even appeared in the Hollywood film, "Pride of the Yankees" and penned an autobiography "The Babe Ruth Story."

This presented OAL (Harridge) sphere was signed during that period and features The Sultan of Swat in his familiar power position--blazing across the sweet spot. The ball has aged to a pleasant light cream tone and exhibits some mild scuff marks, however the league stamping is still very prominent. Meanwhile, the large black steel-tip fountain pen autograph grades a 6.5/10 in strength. A fine exemplar which displays very nicely. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
