1939 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. The 1939 season was one of transition for the New York Yankees franchise as Lou Gehrig was showing the affects of the disease which would eventually be named after him. Joe DiMaggio was coming into his own and assumed the role of leader for the Yankees. Presented is a team-signed OAL (Harridge) baseball penned by twenty-seven members of that championship outfit. Although the ball has "1937" written, we linked it to '39 because it includes Gehrig and Marius Russo - who were only teammates that one season. Most of the autographs average 7/10 with some a notch above and a few lesser. Autographs include: Henrich, Knickerbocker, Powell, Donald, Pearson, Schulte, Rolfe, Hadley, Murphy, Dahlgren, DiMaggio (7.5/10), Selkirk, Gehrig (CH), Gomez (CH), Crosetti, Chandler, Ruffing, Russo, Hildebrand, Gordon, McCarthy (CH), Sundra, Keller and four more. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
