    Description

1939 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball with Gehrig. Though the Bronx Bombers were the last team standing for a fourth consecutive October in 1939, this Centennial season is best remembered for the brave and heartbreaking farewell of the Iron Horse. The vast majority of Yankees team balls from the season find Gehrig in secretarial format, but his remarkable example bucks that unfortunate trend, supplying the genuine article among the twenty-four entrants. The Iron Horse shares sweet spot duties with the Yankee Clipper, the first time we've encountered this ideal Gehrig/DiMaggio pairing. Nearby we find fellow World Champs Dickey, Ruffing, Gordon, Gomez, Combs, McCarthy, Pearson, Henrich, Selkirk, Hadley, Rolfe and more. Autograph quality averages 7/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
