Description

1939 Cincinnati Reds Team Signed Baseball. The National League Champs of the historic Centennial season! Stacked on the side panel of this ONL (Frick) ball are two of the most significant signatures of the twenty-seven present, Hall of Famer Ernie Lombardi and the very difficult Willard Hershberger, who would slit his own throat the following season in despair over his recent poor play. Other noteworthy names include Hall of Fame manager Bill McKechnie, Al Simmons and Johnny Vander Meer. Signature quality is admittedly a bit light, averaging 4/10, but all names remain entirely discernible. A very tough ball with some high dollar autographs. LOA from PSA/DNA.
